Dogs with a classic black and mahogany color pattern appear from Siberia to Great Britain. Darwin believed that there was an ancient canine species, perhaps 30,000 years ago, that was easily domesticated and such a ferocious hunter and protector for his human pack that the ancient legends of four eyed dogs arose.
